Registration appointments are assigned in accordance with SB-1456, the Student Success Act of 2012. (See the Priority Registration Information page for details.)

DegreeWorks is the degree audit and progress tracking system for Coast Community Colleges that provides a more accessible, convenient, and organized way to assess your academic progress. You may access DegreeWorks through your MyCoast account.

Schedule Planner is a tool that allows you to build and compare schedules that best fit your work-school-life balance via your MyCoast. Based on the courses you want and your availability to attend, you are able to shop for the best schedule possible.

Registration is done online through  > "Registration Tools" card > Quick Add or Drop Classes. 

Once the semester has started, you will need to get an add permit from the instructor in order to add the class. Only the instructor will be able to provide you with an add permit.

​Prerequisites are cleared by completing and submitting the Ìý´Ç²Ô±ô¾±²Ô±ð.

If you would like to register for a class that's closed, you have two options.

The first option is to add yourself to the waitlist for the class (if available and the term hasn't started yet). If a seat becomes available in that course, the next student on the waitlist will be notified via their student (cccd.edu) email. Students will then have 24 hours from the time the notification is sent, to register and pay for the class or they will be dropped from the waitlist and the next student on the waitlist will be notified.

The second option is to attend the first class meeting and ask the instructor for an Add Permit. Arrive early for your best chance. If it's an online class, you can email the instructor to request an Add Permit. Once the course begins, the registration system will require an Add Authorization Code in order to register, which is located on the Add Permit. Follow the instructions on the permit to register for the course by the stated deadline.

Not all classes can be taken on a pass/no pass basis. If the class schedule indicates that the course has a "graded or credit option" (listed in the details section on the online class schedule), you may opt to take the course for pass or no-pass instead of a letter grade.

You must submit your request to the Enrollment Center (Student Records) prior to the Grade Option Request deadline. Visit the Pass/No Pass Grading Option page for more information and deadlines.

Students who are registered in classes for the current semester DO NOT need to reapply for admission. Once appointments are assigned, view your registration appointment on  (click on Registration > Registration Status Checklist).

You may want to make an appointment with a counselor to check your progress towards your educational goal.

Make sure you have paid all your fees to avoid any holds that may prevent you from registering. Holds for parking tickets, Library fines/materials, equipment, returned checks, etc. must be resolved with the department that placed the hold.

After you apply online you will receive an email confirming your application was received. If you do not receive a confirmation email be sure to verify that you completed and submitted the application successfully by logging back into 

Although most applications are processed by the next business day, please allow up to 7-10 business days for application processing.

Add "occadmissions@occ.cccd.edu" to your safe sender's list (some Internet providers filter out our emails). Check your junk mail folder if you do not receive an acceptance email 7-10 business days after submitting your application. The confirmation email will contain important instructions as to which steps need to be completed before you will be permitted to register for classes.

​If you are enrolled in the current semester, you do not need to reapply for admission. If you applied for a past semester but never registered for classes, you must reapply for admission. If you've previously attended OCC, but missed the last two semesters, you must reapply for admission.

​All students wishing to receive an AA Degree, AS Degree, and/or Certificate of Achievement must apply for graduation during their last term.

After you enroll in classes, pay all your fees due immediately to avoid being dropped from classes for non-payment.

Payment methods:

Check your Financial Aid status via MyCoast and submit any outstanding documents.

Registration fees include enrollment fees (e.g. tuition), a mandatory health fee, and a college service charge. All of these fees are automatically billed upon registration. Please note that enrollment fees are different for California residents and non-residents. 

Students also have the option of purchasing a parking permit if they will be parking on campus. Students who would like to request to waive the mandatory health fee and/or the college service charge must meet eligibility requirements and submit their requests by the appropriate deadlines.

To find the breakdown of your fees for the semester, log in to MyCoast > Registration > Other Student Resources > Student Class Program (Web Schedule Bill).

You may pay your registration fees for the current term via credit card on your MyCoast portal page or by check in the Enrollment Center or by cash in the Bursar's Office. You can mail your payment to:

If you mail or drop off your payment you are responsible for verifying that the payment was posted by printing your Student Class Program on your MyCoast account.
